The Magic of Money and Beyond !

Today , It is Christmas ! What has money to do with this beautiful festival ?

People say that money is the root of all ....... !

Whatever people say , I tell you that having money is the most wonderful thing we can have !

Money is an energy entity that can bring plenty of fun , joy , happiness and fulfil to our many needs.

It's true that money may not be able to buy love , but it can buy plenty of things to  make people want to love you !

Give a poor hungry person a good meal and you will experience a joy and warm feelings in the eyes

of those you cared to share you kindness .

I actually feel that money can give birth to love ! 

Having said that about money , I also want to make a strong point about giving .

Giving is physical and non-physical and more .

If you can give money in any form , it is wonderful . My point is give freely and comfortable but don't

get stressed in giving ! That's not good for you and anybody .

If money is scarce , then there are so many other ways to give .

Go beyond money and see the magical world of love , kindness and compassion .

I just want to high light that money is wonderful , but we beings are beings that feel .

The only currency to feelings is Love that makes us expand with joy and happiness .

Money can buy you whatever gourmet foods,  but you need some appetite which money cannot buy !

You can make a luxury house but you need love to make that into a home !

So ,the wonders of money are great but greater still is being aware that real goodies of life and living are beyond money !

Share and give money but don't please place yourself in any stress and pain doing that .

Lessons in Liabilities and Asserts !

It's a great day to share my finanical ventures today ! After my last post , I had to write this post .

Yesterday I wrote how the limited mind set can keep expanding . It's up to you where you want to go .

I realised very soon that there are no limits to our growth in any thing here on planet Earth ! 

We all have unlimited potential yet are trapped by views or opinions of others who limit us !

Once you understand that reality and truth , you are now free to fly !

I saw my thinking around simply buying cars ! From unable to buy a car to being able to buy any car without a blink of an eye ! How did that happen ! Just read my last post or I will simply explain again . 

It's taking baby steps and expanding the possibilites and potential within ! From unable to than  being able to buy a car over a phone valued at nearly ringgit 200,000.00 ! That too about 25 years ago !

Now begins my journey towards being wise and mature in matters of money . It's a long winding journey.

My expensive dream car was fun and enjoyable to have and drive . It was a pride and ego booster at most . When I decided to sell it in less than 3 years , I was shocked and surprised to know that I could not get anyone to buy it from me for even Ringgit 120,000.00 ! Anyway I sold it before it lost more value . That was and is a good lesson for me about something known as labilities ! Some things just go down in value and yet somethings go up in value !!

How or why does that happen ? 

I learnt further lessons in the great and mysterious science or art of economy .

There is law in economies that explains that there is a demand and supply law .

If people want something , than the value goes up . Otherwise it goes down !

So, labilities are when there is less or no demand of things . Prices go down . It's that simple .

If people want something , prices go up and it becomes an assert . That's it .

I sold my car and have never gone to buying anything that expensive again .

I have a car that I bought in 1999 and than too, it was 2 years old !

A car 16 years old must be really old or perhaps becoming a vintage !

My car is wonderfully good and looks good too !

My secret is simple . A car is just parts of metal and other stuff . I have learnt to refubish my car in parts . Every 3 years I will respray my car with a new paintwork . Every few years I will change my front lights and panels to the latest model . Interior of the car is also regularly upgraded. Good leather sitting and improved sound system too . My engine is always maintained perfectly by an expert.

So, I have an amazing car that runs like a cheetah ! Smooth as silk ! Shines like today !

The present value is shocking ! Market value is less than Ringgit 12.000.00 ! Am I worried ? Concerned ? Not at all ! 

Do I need to boost my ego ? Never . My aging body or let me be kind to my own body is going fine at 65 years plus ! It's the inner glow that shines now !

Having said about the concept of labitities , there is a value only you will know that defers all such laws of economy . Your pleasure and love of what ever you have is priceless ! 

Liabilities are for man-made laws . We Humans have laws that are infinitely priceless ! 

How do we price peace, happiness , joy and love ?

We are busy chasing GDP when a tiny country called Bhutan is practicing GHP ! They pracitce Gross Happiness Product or whatever !! What a joy to know a small kingdom in the Himalayas is ahead of the rest of the smart world ! God bless them .

How Our Money Blueprint Grows !

Just sharing a small story from my life experiences on money .

I started working and was always walking to work ! Just could not afford a car ! While that was in India . My starting salary was Rupees 300.00 ! Hahahahah . It's about US$ 6-7 /. for 30 days of working !! I had a female colleague who just got married to a Millionaire ! She was chauffeured to work for the same work and pay ! If she saw me walking , she was kind enough to give me a lift .

That was my start to the world of working and understanding the value of money.

After that I came back to Malaysia and started work as a houseman . Well my pay was double !

Now , I was earning Ringgit 600.00 ! It's about US$ 180.00 for 30 days too . That was a good jump !

Still I cannot afford a car . Here my grandmother comes to my rescue . She had an old vintage English car lying in her garage and just crumpling down naturally . I managed to get that car moving and was a very proud young doctor driving around . Towards the end of my houseman , I actually went to the bank manager to borrow Ringgit 2000.00 so that I could buy my own car ! I got my first loan fast.

Most good cars were around Ringgit 7000.00 . No, not new cars ! This were fairly decent used cars . It was no where near my financial situation. I did a brainstorming on how to get my car with my uncle, also a struggling doctor ! We came out with , a so-called brilliant idea. Some big American cars were going for a song because they were petrol guzzlers . Why not buy one of those Fords and just top up the petrol . After all I am buying the car cheap . That's where my Ringgit 2000,00 went . It was a huge car for Malaysian roads . I enjoyed my petrol guzzler for sometime . Money was just dripping away from my pocket . Finally, I managed to get another average car that appeared and kind to my pocket. My American car was left to decay or crumple as no one wanted to touch it .At the end it was sent a scrape yard ! 

Now I had an average decant car by Malaysian standards . By this stage of my career I was doing my psychiatric work cum studying . That's when reality hit me to the importance of this entity called money. I was getting very tired of struggling to look after my family and me . Decided to leave working as a wage earner and start my own medical practice . 

Within a few months I bought a smallish Japanese car , Honda Perlude ! That was a fun car to drive . I was already tasting a new life . My Honda Perlude cost me Ringgit 19,000.00 . Now you can see that I am getting comfortable and confident towards money! 

Now comes the big jump. After about 4 years being in my own business , I felt I wanted to have an image of success ! Why did I needed to show that !? That was the given opinion of people around me . So, I thought I better go with the flow.

I decided to buy a German car , Mercedes Benz.The so-called symbol of success in my country or probably in most countries. I planned my budget to be around Ringgit 50,000.00 . Well, if the car is really to my liking I will go another Ringgit 5000.00 . With that in mind , after much thinking I started looking for my ultimate car !

In no time a Mercedes was brought to my place . The salesperson was a seasoned 50 plus years old. Matured and know his job . He told me that the price of the wonderful car was Ringgit 60,000,00 !

I felt very uncomfortable and was struggling with my own self limit that I had set. My maximum was not over 55,000.00 . Now what to do as they were not budging. They had good reason as the car was priced right . I sat there perplexed and wondered. A dear friend was with me to give support . He saw my perplexed state and explained to me that there was nothing to get too confused with the decision making . He told me that if can afford 55,000.00 than another 5,000.00 is no problem . Anyway, I am not buying my dream car cash . As I am taking a loan from the bank , what difference does it make if the loan is paid an extra few more months ! 

That was my ' Ah ' moment ! Yes, that is it ! 

So, that is how I got my dream car . I would now see the reasoning and was comfortable with such a big step in my financial journey .

After 3 years , I decided to up grade my car to the latest model . 

Now , sitting in my office , I rang my car sales people and told them that I wanted to get the latest model. I wanted the model with all the trappings of comfort.

The new price was a whopping 180,000.00 . I did not even blink an eye !

Over the phone , I bought a 180,000.00 car ! What is there to fear . I learned to take care of the monthly payment , which I could easily . 

So, that is my expanding journey on money !

Well, that was the last time I ever bought a car in that price bracket .

The next phase of my financial journey for another day .

The simple moral of the story is to show how we Humans are fascinating and strange creatures .

We set our own limits and than we struggle to go beyond those limits !

The Money Wonders !

Money has always made me wonder for various reason . To share my financial ventures further , I will

try to explain what I mean . I found that making and saving money is hard. Harder still is knowing what to do with the saved money ! If you find that funny or strange , let me explain . I started with earnings where it was always not enough . My simple good living always found me short of this most important stuff. Finally , when I realised that as a wage earner I am always going to be struggling in this modern world of inflation ! As a wage earner , I was not getting richer . I was actually getting poorer ! I will tell you why , although , I feel you all know better than I knew then ! 

If my pay went up by 4 % per year , the rate of inflation plus other increases went up maybe 8- 10 % !

I soon realise that I was getting poorer and may start to actually sink !

I am no financial expert . I am just a dedicated medical doctor ! As dedicated as I am , I also have a family to feed and provide for ! I can tell you from my experience that in that sort of situation , everything gets compromised ! I found myself thinking of money most of the time !! That's was real bad! I started to see simple people who had hardly any education or just worked as hawkers or petty traders and realised that they were better off materially than I was !

Being a psychiatrist /psychological medicine doctor , I actually tried to convince my good self that I was this or that and all the noble life stuff ! It was not working because the reality was too real and in the face ! I still remember my son , who was just 5 years or younger , when he picked a big bar of chocolate . I just felt that the price was too much . I quickly graped a box of small chocolates and convinces him that he was getting so many more instead of just one big one !! Can you beat that for my psychological training ! When I saw that , I knew that my situation was getting desperate . 

That was when I decided that I had to get out of this trap ! A wage earning trap . I just got up one morning and decided that it was time to move on !

Walked away to start earning my own money . That's another story for another day.

From a medical doctor who only knew how to practice medicine , I jumped into the real world to be part doctor and part businessman ! The part doctor was not a problem , but being a businessman was a whole new game . I had no idea what a liability or assert meant!!

Yes, you can and are allowed to laugh ! I just never saw money as an issue until .

Well, it did not take me long to start learning about this magical thing called money .

I learnt fast and started to see the wonders of making money. 

Then I started to realise that making money was hard and harder still was what to do with the money !

Money has a strange way of behaving ! It cannot sit still ! It is full of energy . It likes to wander  away if we are not careful . It has a funny way to change our behaviour too ! 

That is when I started to study the amazing and strange properties of money .

Money needs to be invested . Money needs to grow . Money is actually an energy entity that we have to understand before it controls us or gets us into another trap ! From the fry pan to the fire !

Having a relationship with money is very interesting . 

I  will take a break as it can be pretty emotional talking or sharing my experience with money .

The Mystery of Money !

I am going to share my personal finanical ventures !

There is always something to learn from every persons finanical venture . Money is such a major aspect of our life ! It is so powerful that it is seen by me as a mystery ! Just take money out of our Human lifes and we will have a totally different civilisation ! The very fabric of Human living is standing on this plateform ! From the cradle to the grave  this is  such a major factor around which our whole life is wrapped in !

We all are aware and know that we are not going to be around for ever . Yet, we are living and struggling with this material stuff almost all our lives . It is the closest to fresh air and water !

As for me , I never saw or took money to be importent in my life for a long time ! Childhood was always fun time . Money was never a major issue . As long as the basics were met , I was happy . We were not born with any silver or gold spoons . Life was simple and yet satisfying . Childhood passed so  very quietly . In my college years it was not very different too . Yes, I did look forward to my father sending me money for my needs . Sometimes it was actually funny because I was enjoying my days just going for walks or going to the gym to do some excerises or just sitting and enjoying the company of my classmates . When the money came , it was celebration time ! Suddenly , I will ask myself , what shall I do with the money ! 

Out of college . Now I was a young doctor who had to support my younger siblings and mother . My father had passed away when I was in my final year of medical college .

Somehow, it was not seen as a real issue ! I started my first year as an intern and was earning Rupee 300 !

In todays world you cannot understand or even imagine what it s value was ! It;s unbelievable !

As for me ,  I was the happiest guy on the planet ! I was earning my own money ! The money mystery begins! The following year I started earning money in Malaysia . As a houseman , I started with Ringgit 600.  I can tell you that it was just enough  to feed myself at most ! Nothing else . I actually managed to get a small vintage car from my grandmother . Grandfather had passed away and the car was just rotting away . You have no idea what a joy it was to have that vintage car ! I was the only houseman in my hospital to have a car ! The money mystery gets exciting ! 

Both my younger siblings were studying in medical colleges in India . I also had sent my mother to be with them . I started sending them half of my pay ! Yes, that is Ringgit 300 ! My 30 days were supported by Ringgit 290 as I had to contribute Ringgit 10 to some fund ! You see  I can remember the smallest of details even after 37 years ! 

Even then , I never ever felt money was really a major issue ! Yes, I was very careful with my expenses . I was just managing to eat and even drive a small vintage car ! 

Thats enough for now . Will continue my saga tomorrow .
